Annual Prayer Vigil

8:00 p.m. March 30, 2018 – 6:00 p.m. March 31, 2018

We will be having our annual Holy Week “Prayer Vigil” from 8:00 p.m. on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, through 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018. If you would like to come in and pray or serve in the commons area as a security person, please sign up at the Welcome Center.

In addition, other times of prayer will be offered at the church in the designated prayer room Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. For more information, please contact the church office.

Do you feel the need to just get away for a minute or two? To sit in peace, maybe with soft music playing? Have you the desire to just kneel quietly at the altar or to just find a place where you can go and have a ‘little talk with Jesus’?

The Prayer Room at The Woods UMC is just the place to spend some quiet, intimate time with God praying or simply resting and ‘being still’ The Room was dedicated on February 14, 2018, for members and guests to have a place away from the sanctuary to lift up prayers and petitions. In the room, there are journals to list prayers and concerns as well as a journal to lift up joys and answered prayers. There also is a board where people are encouraged to write prayers.

The Partners and Prayer Ministry meets in the room between 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. They lift up weekly concerns on the church’s prayer list and encourage others to join them in interceding for others. Those in need of prayer are also invited to attend. The room is open daily between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and before and after worship services on Sundays.

A special thanks to the faithful Prayer Team core members Yvonne Mosley, Shirley Sinks, Tom Grozier, Connie Harris, Janet Reynolds and a host of others who commit to lifting up this church, congregation, our ministries, community and world.

May we, as a church, be faithful in our prayers.
