We are always looking for people to help volunteer at the church. We have many opportunities to serve!

Ushers

An usher is someone who will present you with a church bulletin as you enter our sanctuary. He/she will direct people to seats, direct communion, and be available in case of an emergency. Ushers are also able to direct people to Sunday School classes. If you think you would be interested in serving as an usher, contact the church office at (972) 602-9944 for more information.

Communion Assistants

Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is one of two sacraments (of sacred or holy significance) along with Baptism recognized by the United Methodist Church. Called the central rite of the church, in Communion we celebrate God’s love and grace for us as we remember Christ’s life, death and resurrection. The bread and cup represent Christ’s body and blood and his enduring sacrifice for us.

Communion Assistants are laity who assist the pastor(s) in serving the consecrated elements during the worship service. The assistants feel especially privileged to share in serving their brothers and sisters in these holy moments where the spirit of Christ is alive and able to transform lives. Both youth and adults who possess a servant’s heart are invited to be a part of this enlightening ministry opportunity and are invited to contact the church office for more information.

Greeters and Welcome Center Volunteers

GreetersDo you like meeting new people and making people feel welcome? If that describes you then we would love for you to volunteer to greet at the door or work the Welcome Center! Contact the church office at (972) 602-9944 for more information.

Acolyte

AcolytesAn acolyte plays a very important role in worship. When you serve God by serving as an acolyte, you are doing more than carrying a flame to the altar candles, you are bringing the light of Christ’s spirit into the worship service. You begin the worship service. You end the time of worship, and lead us out into the world to be the light of Christ. Our acolytes are young boys and girls who are in the 3rd through 6th grades. The word “acolyte” comes from the Greek word “akolouthos” which means an attendant of the Lord’s Table; an attendant, assistant or helper in worship.

Youth Volunteers

If you have a heart for youth and enjoying helping youth further their relationship with the Lord we would be overjoyed to have you help with our youth! If you would like to help with Sunday School, come hang out at United Methodist Youth Fellowship, or if you would rather provide snacks and help out with resources, we have a place where you can serve. Email Karen Zetta or call or text her at (806) 206-6731 if you are interested in serving with youth.
