The Woods United Methodist Church is the result of the merging of two United Methodist congregations from Grand Prairie. Established in 2006, The Woods UMC has emerged as a dynamic and fast growing community located in South Grand Prairie. We are honored to serve our community as a vibrant new church while proudly standing on the shoulders of our founders. Our members are a widely diverse community of believers who represent all facets of 21st century American life.
What do we believe?
We believe in God as our Creator, Jesus Christ as our Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit as our Sustainer.
We believe that God offers grace to everyone.
We believe that Jesus shows us how to love, and we strive to follow him in every part of our lives, individually and as a family of faith.
We believe that the Holy Spirit provides guidance, comfort, and strength in our lives.
We believe that the communion table is God’s table, and all are welcome to receive the forgiveness that is freely offered to us through Christ.
We believe that God pours abundant grace into our lives, and we celebrate this truth through the sacrament of baptism, which is available to God’s children at any age.
We believe that God knows our hearts better than anyone else, and none of us are in the place to judge others.
We are simply called to receive God’s love and to share God’s love with everyone.
